Brevra Privacy Policy
Last updated and effective: October 22, 2026
Brevra is a strength-training logger for iPhone and Apple Watch. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, where it is kept, and the choices and rights you may have. It applies to the Brevra apps, these web pages and the Brevra service. Brevra is offered only in the United States and Canada.
The short version
- We collect what you log and what's needed to run your account, and use it to provide and improve Brevra.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we never use your health and fitness data, or anything from Apple Health, for advertising.
- Heart rate and calories read from Apple Health stay on your iPhone.
- Your data is stored by our service providers in the United States.
- You can export your data or delete your account at any time in the app.
1. Who we are
Brevra is operated by Ronggang Cui, an independent developer based in Alberta, Canada, who is responsible for the protection of your personal information (privacy officer). Contact: rongcuidev@gmail.com, or by mail at PO Box 2178 Stn Main, Edmonton AB T5J 2P4, Canada.
2. What we collect
- Account identity — your email address and name, provided by Apple or Google when you sign in. If you use Sign in with Apple with "Hide My Email", we only ever see Apple's private relay address. If you sign in with Google, we also receive the link to your Google profile photo.
- Training data — the workouts, routines, exercises, sets, weights, reps, records and notes you log.
- Profile and training preferences — such as your units, how often you train, your experience, goal, session length, muscle areas to focus on or avoid, the equipment you have, and the program you follow.
- Body stats (optional) — body-weight history, height, birthday and gender, only if you enter them or choose to import them from Apple Health.
- Records of your agreement — when you accepted the Terms of Use and the health and safety terms, and when you consented to the storage of health and fitness data.
- Sign-in tokens — the tokens that keep you signed in, and a token from Apple that lets us revoke Sign in with Apple when you delete your account.
- Technical and usage data — request logs recorded when the app contacts our servers (such as your IP address, the time, the app's version and device type, and the result), and diagnostic and usage information such as crash reports, performance data and which features are used.
Some of this information, such as workouts, body measurements, birthday, gender and areas you avoid, may be considered health information. Our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy explains how we handle it in more detail.
3. What stays on your device
Preferences such as theme and rest-timer settings, the current rest timer and reminders are kept only on your iPhone. The Apple Watch app keeps no data of its own; it shows the workout in progress on your iPhone.
4. Apple Health
Connecting Apple Health is optional. With your permission the app can:
- Read heart rate and active energy recorded during a workout (for example by an Apple Watch), to show heart rate and calories in that workout's summary. These readings stay on your device and are not sent to our servers.
- Read your latest body weight and height, but only when you choose to import them. Imported values are saved to your Brevra profile, and therefore our servers, like values you type in.
- Write your finished workouts to Apple Health, if you turn that on.
Data obtained from Apple Health is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, and never disclosed to third parties for their own purposes. You can revoke access at any time in the iOS Settings app under Health.
5. What we don't collect
We do not collect your precise location, contacts or photos, and we never see your payment card details (Apple handles any purchase).
6. How we use your information
We use your information to provide, maintain and improve Brevra: to create and secure your account; to store, back up and sync your training and profile across your devices; to show your history, progress, records and estimates; to build and suggest programs, routines and starting weights; to understand how Brevra is used, fix problems and develop new features; to communicate with you about your account, the service and, where permitted, news and offers; to prevent fraud and abuse; and to comply with the law, enforce our Terms and protect our rights. Program suggestions are produced automatically by rules from your answers. They have no legal or similarly significant effect, and you can change or ignore them at any time.
We may also create de-identified or aggregated information that can no longer reasonably identify you, and use it for any lawful purpose, such as improving Brevra and developing training features. We keep such information in de-identified form, will not attempt to re-identify it, and require anyone we share it with to do the same.
7. Consent and choices
Before Brevra stores any health and fitness information — workouts, body stats, goals and muscle areas you avoid — the app asks for your separate, express consent, apart from accepting the Terms, and we record when you gave it. Otherwise, by creating an account and using Brevra, you consent to the collection, use and disclosure described in this policy, including the storage of your information in the United States.
Optional information, such as body stats and Apple Health access, is collected only if you choose to provide it. You can withdraw consent at any time by removing that information, turning off Apple Health access, or deleting your account. Your sign-in identity and training data are needed to provide Brevra at all, so withdrawing consent for them means closing your account.
8. Who we share it with
- Service providers that process information on our behalf to help us run Brevra, such as cloud hosting and storage (currently Google Cloud Platform, operated by Google LLC), customer support, email, crash reporting and analytics. They may use it only to provide their services to us.
- Apple and Google — to verify your identity when you sign in, and Apple to revoke Sign in with Apple when you delete your account.
- Legal and safety — when we believe in good faith that the law requires it, or to protect the rights, property or safety of anyone, including in an emergency.
- Business transfers — to a successor if Brevra is transferred, for example in a sale or merger. The successor must keep to this policy.
- With your direction — for example when you export your data or write workouts to Apple Health.
We may also share de-identified or aggregated information that does not identify you.
9. Where it is stored; transfers outside Canada
Your information is stored and processed in the United States by our service providers, including Google Cloud, which hosts Brevra. If you live in Canada, your information is transferred to, stored in and processed in the United States, where it may be accessible to courts, law enforcement and national security authorities under United States law. Before storing personal information outside Canada and Quebec, we assessed the risks, including the security and contractual protections our service providers offer. If you have questions about how our service providers outside Canada handle your information, contact our privacy officer at the address above.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards, such as encryption in transit and at rest and restricted access to production systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of your information.
11. How long we keep it
- Your account and training data — for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide Brevra. Something you delete in the app, such as a workout, is removed from our servers the next time the app syncs.
- When you delete your account — your account and associated data are removed from our active systems promptly. Remaining copies in backups and logs are deleted on a rolling schedule, normally within 45 days.
- Logs and diagnostic data — kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting, then deleted or de-identified.
- On your device — signing out or deleting your account removes all Brevra data from that device. Workouts already saved to Apple Health stay in Health until you delete them there.
12. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us to:
- confirm whether we hold personal information about you, and give you access to it;
- correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- give you a copy of your information in a portable format (you can also export it yourself in Account → Your data);
- delete your information (you can also do this yourself in Account → Delete account);
- tell you who we have shared it with;
- withdraw your consent, as described in section 7.
Email rongcuidev@gmail.com from the email address on your account, so we can confirm it's you. We respond within the time the law requires. You may also complain to a privacy regulator: in Canada, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, the information and privacy commissioner of your province, or the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec; in the United States, the attorney general of your state.
13. Notice to United States residents
We do not sell personal information. Brevra does not respond to "Do Not Track" signals. Residents of Washington, Nevada and Connecticut should also see our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.
14. If something goes wrong
If a security incident affects your personal information, we will notify you and the authorities as required by applicable law.
15. Emails
We email you about your account and the service. We may also send news about Brevra or offers; where the law requires it, such as in Canada, only with your consent. You can unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time.
16. Children
Brevra is intended only for adults aged 18 and over and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete the account and its data. If you believe a minor is using Brevra, contact us at the address above.
17. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new date and, if a change is material, notify you in the app or by email, and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
18. Language
This policy is available in English and French, using the link at the top of this page.
